Mounting Position

There are standard and alternate mounting locations for a rotary table on machines.

Most standard 4th axis rotary tables can be mounted in the vertical (centerline of rotation is parallel to the X axis) or in the horizontal position (mounted on its back with the centerline of rotation parallel to machine Z axis). On the HMC machines the rotary table is mounted on top of the existing B axis. The table can be mounted in many locations on the B axis provided it will stay within the maximum swing diameter of the machine. The standard mounting location is facing the operator in the load station.
